Meet the Northrups

We’re Lynn and Jessica Northrup. We have a lot of hiking and adventure information to share with you.   We are centrally situated to adventure destinations in southwestern colorado and the San Juan Mountains near Telluride and Ouray. Our Montrose location is a great base camp for hikes and adventures. Our Colorado explorations also include the Grand Mesa, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, and Crested Butte.

We have explored the entire Colorado Plateau. Our adventures have taken us to Moab, all of southern Utah, and into parts of Arizona. You will enjoy our tips for visiting adventure sites, National Monuments, and National Parks. Experience majestic arches, slot canyons, and slick rock exploration, we’ll offer lots of options for seeking adventure.

We have created Adventure Guides to help you plan your trips and adventures. These Guides cover southwestern Colorado and southern Utah and list our recommended hikes for those areas. We have rated the hikes by a wow factor, difficulty, hiking distance, and a GPS reference to the trail head location on Goggle Maps. Google Maps for the hiking region is embedded in each page. View that embedded page in a larger view and enter the link to find the location of the trail head.

In addition to being active hikers, we are also photographers. We are constantly searching for photo opportunities across Colorado, Utah, and wherever our travel takes us. Our photography is featured though out the website, in our blog posts, and the photo gallery. We have also been creating video of our hiking adventures to provide a greater sense of our experiences.

Based on knowledge we gained from pursuing these adventures, we realized that others could benefit from our experiences. We hope sharing our knowledge, experiences, and images will help others to enjoy and gain more from their visits to these exciting southwest destinations.
