I take images on every hike and have started to add video. The videos give you a wonderful sense of where we hike and what we see and experience. Enjoy these videos.
Pioneer Point is located about 50 miles east of Montrose and is adjacent to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Curecanti Creek flows into the Gunnison River and during the spring provides some scenic and dramatic images. This stunning hike has an elevation gain and loss of 900 feet.
The Fiery Furnace is located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. It is an exciting hike that usually is ranger-led. Route finding is very difficult and we suggest doing the hike with a park ranger. Since I had done the hike with a ranger, we felt confident of doing it on our own. This is one of the most exciting hikes we have done so we hope you enjoy the video.
Delicate Arch is famous and is also located in Arches National Park. The hike is around 3 miles on slick rock. It is a magnificent sight every time you are near this arch.
House on Fire
The House on Fire hike takes you up Mule Canyon in Cedar Mesa. The ruins provide great images and on the day we took this video, we past a photography workshop of about 20 people headed up canyon to the ruins. We were so glad we got there before that crew descended on us. This is a great little hike with a huge payoff.
How could we not include a video of the Wave. The Wave is located in northern Arizona in an area known as Coyote Buttes North. You need a special permit to access The Wave which is limited to only 20 people each day. It is a fairly tough 7 mile round trip hike with difficult route finding. We have been fortunate to experience the Wave two times. It is a thrill of a life time.
